A new traffic signal has been approved by the CDOT for installation at the intersection of Eastfield Road and Highland Creek Parkway. Click here for more information. Once the traffic signal is in place, a new boutique, resort-style, 55+ active adult apartment community will be built on the property at the corner of Highland Creek Parkway and Eastfield Road.

Charlotte City Council approved the rezoning for 2017-152. This is to be able to convert the old BiLo on Docia Crossing (next to Due Amici’s) to a Studio Movie Grill movie theater. The 47,000-square foot theater will feature thirteen screens. The theater is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2019.
Ridge Rd Sidewalk Gap – The project will install a sidewalk on Ridge Rd between Highland Creek and Waverly Lynn Ln. Duke Energy will also install street lights around the area. The real estate acquisition phase is complete. Notification will be sent by postcard before construction begins. Pike’s Nursery has filed a rezoning for the property across the street from the ABC store. This is the property with the pond. Plan is for 24,000 sq. ft. greenhouse, 11,000 sq. ft. display area, 12,000 sq. ft. retail and a possible 11,000 sq. ft. additional building.
A 238-unit development will be built at the intersection of Prosperity Ridge Road and Johnston Oehler Road. It will be complete around April 2020.
