Charlotte City Council approved the rezoning for 2017-152. This is to be able to convert the old BiLo on Docia Crossing (next to Due Amici’s) to a movie theater. ETA on opening Studio Movie Grill is late 2018.
Ridge Rd Sidewalk Gap – The project will install a sidewalk on Ridge Rd between Highland Creek and Waverly Lynn Ln. Duke Energy will also install street lights around the area. The real estate acquisition phase is complete. The construction phase is next and anticipated to begin in the summer. Notification will be sent by postcard before construction begins. Pike’s Nursery has filed a rezoning for the property across the street from the ABC store. This is the property with the pond. Plan is for 24,000 sq. ft. greenhouse, 11,000 sq. ft. display area, 12,000 sq. ft. retail and a possible 11,000 sq. ft. additional building. Community meeting will be late April/early May and will be shared once details are finalized. If rezoning is approved, Pike’s is aiming for a March 2019 opening.
