Please note that through August 2021, you will notice a steady pattern of resurfacing work taking place weekdays during daylight hours in Concord. Concord’s Transportation Department staff have developed a new interactive map, where community members can see the location planned street segments. Once work begins, the segments will show updated status as work is scheduled, underway, and complete.
A coffee and cigar shop opened in July in Concord. Sticks and Beans opened at 10070 Edison Square Drive N.W. (formerly Hop & Vine). Co-owners Xavian Seiferth and Marcus Samuel are behind the venture, which also offers small plates and a bar.

A new traffic signal has been approved by the CDOT for installation at the intersection of Eastfield Road and Highland Creek Parkway. Click here for more information. Charlotte City Council approved the rezoning for 2017-152. This is to be able to convert the old BiLo on Docia Crossing (next to Due Amici’s) to a Studio Movie Grill movie theater. The 47,000-square foot theater will feature thirteen screens. The theater is now open. Read more.
Pike’s Nursery has filed a rezoning for the property across the street from the ABC store. This is the property with the pond. Plan is for 24,000 sq. ft. greenhouse, 11,000 sq. ft. display area, 12,000 sq. ft. retail and a possible 11,000 sq. ft. additional building.
A 238-unit development will be built at the intersection of Prosperity Ridge Road and Johnston Oehler Road. It will be complete around April 2020.
City Council approved 440 multifamily units – at least 120 of which will be for seniors – and a childcare center on a 42-acre site on Johnston Oehler Road, near Prosperity Ridge Road.
